We're a tiny (but impressive!) team of two: a (part-time) project organiser and an assistant organiser (also part-time).

The project organiser's main role is to recruit teachers, schools and other agencies and to help support and sustain cafes in schools. She gets out and about, working directly with student organising teams to set up and sustain their cafes. The assistant organiser is more static: she deals with website, resources, materials, communication and information and supporting schools that are distant from the project's focus area. She also supports the adult cafe scientifique organisers.

The project is focussed in the north of England but if you want to experiment with a cafe in your school, we'll do our best to help and support you, wherever you may be.

We will set up and run introductory sessions for speakers, students and teachers, to give everyone a clear idea of their roles and responsibilities and develop your confidence in your ability to further the cafe ideals. We work closely with students and teachers to set up and run that all-important first cafe and support you in developing a full cafe programme.

If you are a teacher, student or speaker who'd like to register an interest in taking part in this project, please email the Assistant Organiser in the first instance.
