Speakers

Good speakers are vital to the success of Cafes Scientifiques. We need inspiring and enthusiastic scientists, especially those in the early stage of their careers, from all disciplines, able to promote student interaction and get students thinking critically about the science in their lives and willing to develop talks on topics outside their day-to-day work.

We'll provide support in two ways; through a speaker pack with full information about the aims and methodology of JCS and through speakers' orientation workshops, to introduce you to the aims, objectives, style and format of Cafe Scientifique and help you develop communication skills for presenting effectively to school students.

We need speakers in the pilot areas of Manchester, Leeds/Bradford and Newcastle but as cafes spread across the north of England (and maybe further afield) we'll need to increase our speaker base.

If you'd like to find out more about being a Cafe Scientifique speaker please explore the speakers' links on the left (also available as a pdf downloadable pack), and to register your interest in taking part, please complete and return the speakers' information form.
